Services

A bustling city requires services to keep your residents paying taxes and living in your town. Sims become unhappy when these services are not met so besure to provide them to your citizens!

Services fall into 4 different categories  

Utility Services (Power, Water, Waste and Sewage)

  • Needs to be connected via the road network, but provides its services automatically
  • Does not need to have to be near a building to be providing its services

Coverage services (Police, Fire, Water)

  • Needs to be near residential zones
  • Creates a coverage area around the building placed
    • This varies dependant on the building
  • Lack of these services (Once unlocked) will greatly impact happiness negatively
    • Sims leave and abandon residences

Specializations (Parks, Education, Transportation, Entertainment, Gambling, Landmarks)

  • Needs to be near residential zones
  • Creates a coverage area around the building placed that ‘boosts’ the population
    • This varies dependant on the building
  • Lack of these services (Once unlocked) will slightly impact happiness negatively
    • Sims will express their unhappiness in speech bubbles but will not leave or abandon residences

Government Services (Town Hall, City Hall, Mayor’s Mansion)

  • There are some benefits placing these near residential areas, but it is not necessary
  • Special uses for each building (described in detail)
